Honoring the Legacy of Photojournalism
In 2018, Stephanie completed a labor of love by curating a traveling exhibit titled PHOTOGRAPHIC MEMORY, highlighting the work of her late great-uncle Maurice Sorrell, the first credentialed Black member of the White House News Photographers and a 32-year staff photographer for Johnson Publications (Ebony & Jet magazines). Opening at Philadelphia’s Slought Foundation before appearing at Penn’s Makuu Cultural Center and the African American Museum in Philadelphia, Stephanie is currently seeking additional opportunities to present the work in physical or digital form at schools and other cultural institutions across the US.
